The Big Autumn Clean Up
A joint community clean-up connecting Mallusk and Roughfort through practical volunteer action.
3 September 2022
The story
RHCPS joined Mallusk & District Community Support for a community clean-up from Mallusk to Roughfort on Saturday 3 September 2022.
Volunteers met at Hydepark War Memorial Orange Hall before working across the area to remove litter, improve public spaces and show pride in the local environment.
The project was a simple but visible example of community organisations working together. It encouraged volunteering, strengthened relationships and helped improve the appearance of roads and shared spaces used by residents every day.
Equipment and refreshments were provided, allowing people of different ages and experience to take part.
RHCPS thanks Mallusk & District Community Support, all participating volunteers and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council for supporting the activity.
Keeping Roughfort’s story accessible
This record forms part of RHCPS’s work to document local activity, acknowledge support and preserve the heritage and cultural life of Roughfort for future generations.
